Faster and Better Development in Nepal

The other observation I have in mind at this stage is about the economic revolution in modern era. How can the poor countries grow faster economically ? This is an important question to poor countries like Nepal which has a huge potential to increase the economy in a few years time. But it obviously requires a better economic plan with managed and visionary development works side by side. Economic growth and development are interdependent. Development brings economic growth and economic growth brings development.

The vital question is how can we improve the standard of our economy?. There are some points that everyone who is involved in the development of the country should understand:

First thing one has to realize that the world is changing very rapidly and it is very vibrant. Hence, following the development principles as observed in 40s and 50s do not help much. An extensive and higher level of thinking incorporating all possible areas with the better vision for the upcoming future demands is needed. Undoubtedly, we learn from the past but we need to improve our shortcomings and follow our achievements.

Second thing is always make long term plans. Short term plans need a lot of energy and becomes worthless after certain period of time. Think for at least 30-40 years ahead. Since we are developing late, we have the chances to learn from the experiences of all other countries in the world, we have chances to learn from their failures and also to learn from their successes, so that we can design our own improved economic model

Third thing is the need for a good research on our own country. Do an extensive study, make a survey, simulate the models and list all the consequences. Always bear in mind that environment is the most important aspect of our life. Never compromise any projects against the environment. We remain healthy as long as the environment is protected, else development makes no sense.

Fourth thing is the priorityPlan a highest priority project at first and make it successful, which provides motivational boost to the planner, executors and the general public. This one boosts the economy of the country visibly. For example, setting up an industry, in the context of Nepal- IT companies, a large scale tourism industry, a large scale agricultural firm, a huge construction project, roads or hydroelectricity, etc. Anyone can boost the economy very well. This really acts as a capsule to improvise the unstable politics and poor economic condition.

Sincere government efforts really matter. Side by side change the social systems such as education and health status, salary, some government policies and so on. Promote investors, foreign and national. When the country starts growing economically, the social discrepancies are slowly removed. Prioritize quality education and quality health. Take care of the basic needs of the people. That is what all demand. All the rest will then run in a cycle until you make sure that the conditions are improving.

Once quality education and basic needs are all provided as the input, the system acts completely. It goes in a loop and we keep on improving. We improve the standard of living of all the people, we provide them benefits and make them work. The political instability will end because people are busy working than promoting dirty politics.

All we need is to conduct a research, plan our own model taking all the success points from all the developed countries suitable for our own country, put sincere efforts on implementing these plans and side by side improve the social infrastructures such as quality education and quality health. Rest will happen automatically since quality inputs are bound to provide quality outputs as long as the system is stable and well-functioning.
